Professor Tax began in 1981 around Asheville, N.C. Licensed by the U.S. Treasury Department as an enrolled IRS agent, Henry Baurley (CEO) drummed up business the old fashioned way, going door-to-door, meeting people face-to-face. Then, several years ago, a setback in business that would have caused most to nail up an out-of-business sign, instead turned it into a nationwide opportunity. Henry Baurley (The Original Professor Tax) hired telemarketers down the coast to Panama City, Florida, and soon had more appointments there than he felt he could fairly service. Business boomed so quickly with referrals, that he moved his headquarters to Panama City. Henry is an active member in the Panama City chapter of BNI, as keeping connected to the local businesses that he provides bookkeeping, accounting and tax services to is very important to him. Now in the process of grooming his son Daryl Baurley to manage Professor Tax, Henry is looking forward to getting even more connected with his customers and meeting new clients like he always has door-to-door!
